Our Phoenix data center previously scheduled UPS work for Thursday, 8/20. During that window, the building's facilities team completed testing and commissioning activities for the new UPS equipment. The next phase of this work is scheduled for Tuesday, 10/6.
This work is part of the building's planned initiative to improve backup power redundancy ahead of permanent UPS upgrades for the suite.
On 10/6, the building's facilities team will place one of the UPS systems into Maintenance Bypass to complete the next phase of the work. During Maintenance Bypass, power will be supplied directly from utility service, and UPS protection will not be available during that period. No service interruption is expected.
Once the work is complete, the building's team will perform operational testing to verify proper system functionality. Assuming all tests pass, the system will be returned to normal operation.
While no service interruption is expected, during the bypass window your server will not have UPS protection in the event of a utility power event.
